The following is a brief overview of the Huyck.Wangner press felt product line.

IMPACT (endless) The new IMPACT press felt technology demonstrates that felt saturation is the parameter that has the greatest impact on immediate startup and maximum drainage. Huyck.Wangner's IMPACT press felts use special hydrophilic materials to maximize saturation. When the paper machine is started up, the felt saturates immediately thanks to perfectly aligned parallel yarns that act like sponges. These hydrophilic IMPACT yarns are kept in place using a multidimensional stabilized support layer, which in combination with the yarn arrangement guarantees outstanding dimensional stability. These fabric layers are designed as "pure impact" (IMPACT yarns arranged in the machine and cross machine directions) or as "hybrid impact" (an IMPACT layer combined with a base fabric). The new IMPACT press felt design is suitable for all graphic paper machine applications. The Impact felt weight ranges from 1300 gsm to 1800 gsm. Impact - embrace the power of nature!

CAPILLARIS: (endless) The Capillaris product family offers a wide range of laminated press felt solutions (1+1; 1+2, 1+1+1), which are available for all press applications. These laminates are constructed with a fine and marking-free top base fabric covering a bottom base fabric which is adjusted to the requirements in terms of permeability, void volume, compaction resistance and elasticity for the particular press position. The Capillaris felt weight ranges from 1100 gsm to 2100 gsm. Capillaris felts can be seen as the standard product for packaging and graphical grades in the paper industry.

HUYSTAR: (endless) The Huystar product group comprises special double and triple layer base fabrics. All Huystar designs are constructed to maintain their integrity, even under high loads. They can also handle high water volumes. The application criteria for Huystar includes all press positions on machines producing packaging grades, first and second press positions on printing, writing machines and newsprint machines, where higher water volumes have to be drained. The Huystar felt weight ranges from 1200 gsm to 2100 gsm.

AXXELERATOR: (endless) Axxelerator is the latest development of Huyck.Wangner for high speed machines in the newsprint, LWC, SC and printing and writing segments. Axxelerators are unique double and triple layer base fabric designs which are produced with a multiharness weaving technology (patent pending). Axxelerator felts have reached an outstanding performance on third and fourth press positions and shoe presses due to maximised pressure transfer and optimised drainage channels. The high elasticity leads to a very stable runnability and avoids vibrations. Axxelerator felts are available from 1200 to 1800 gsm. Axxelerator - unmatched performance!

HUYPERM: (endless or seamed) Huyck.Wangner is the pacemaker when it comes to permeable press belts. Huyperm is the first permeable press belt in the paper industry. Huyperm press belts consist of a tailor-made base fabric according to the application (also available with seamed base fabrics), a special cross-linking technology, Huyperpunch D needling technology and an optimised calandering process which results in a unique, smooth paper side and stabilised drainage channels. Huyperm is available as endless of seamed version. If printability improvements or twosideness reduction is an issue, Huyperm is the right answer! More than 1,100 Huypermpress belts have been shipped out of Huyck.Wangner Gloggnitz and have enabled papermakers to achieve new dimensions regarding paper quality. Permeable Huyperm press belts are available from 1300 to 2100 gsm. Huyperm - added value through improved paper quality!

SEAMEXX and SEAMEXX TX: (seamed) The Seamexx product group covers all double layer seam felt designs with single monofilaments in MD and CMD direction. The Seamexx TX design with plied CMD yarns represents unique double layer Seam felt solutions with improved batt anchorage and low void volume for demanding press positions. Additionally, triple layer seam felt designs were developed to meet the requirements on heavy loaded presses or applications, where high water volumes must be drained. Plied yarns are also used in the triple layer designs on the paper side to improve the pressure support and wear resistance. Seamexx and Seamexx TX press felts are available from 1200 to 2100 gsm.
