Continual product development is a core strategy of Mount Hope, focusing on bringing customers enhancements that improve the quality of their products and reduce production costs. Research and development facilities outside of North America are coordinated through Mount Hope's main facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. There, engineers are developing next generation bowed roll technologies and manufacturing procedures to bring customers the performance they need to make them the top in their industry. The research team often works directly with customers on solutions for their unique needs.

The Vari-Bow's patented split-axle design allows operators to change the degree of bow in a roll and react to unpredictable spreading requirements and changing conditions. The Multi-Bow provides ultimate on-the-fly fine tuning for optimum efficiency, allowing for varying weights, widths, moisture content, tensions and draws.

The High Temperature Application bowed roll designed by Mount Hope maintains a smooth sheet and extends roll service life in high-temperature environments. A liquid-cooled axle keeps the bearing races below the grease temperature limit assuring maximum roll life.
